Dr. Laura-Marie Zimmermann

Founder and Director

Laura is a passionate advocate for innovation within the life sciences, with a particular focus on fostering preclinical trial research, where she believes the next breakthroughs will emerge. She is an experienced expert in preclinical trial design, with a strong background in  growth factors, medical devices, cardiovascular and rare disease research and MedTech. Laura supports clients through the complexities of early-stage innovation, collaborating with global industry leader. 

As the founding partner and director of Biorizon Consulting, Laura guides the firm’s direction by integrating European and Asia-Pacific insights, nurturing top consulting talent, and driving strategic decisions in drug development and innovation. Her additional role as a Preclinical Board Advisor further strengthens her commitment to excellence and her influence within the field.

Laura’s background includes roles as a scientific researcher at the University Hospital Cologne and the Max-Planck Institute in Germany. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cologne and M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Chemical Biology from the Technical University Dortmund, Germany.

    Jenny is a seasoned Public Health Nutrition researcher with over 10 years of experience, holding an MSc from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a BSc from Loughborough University. She has carried out WHO-funded research on chronic disease prevention and management, including a systematic review and meta-analyses on mobile technology. Jenny's expertise spans quantitative research, and scientific communication with multiple high-quality publications. Her contributions also include book chapter on climate change and health. Jenny’s dedication to public health and her strong communication skills make her a valuable asset in life science consulting.
